Colour My Life With The Chaos Of Trouble

Hello! So it's Saturday yet again and I'm really tired due to waking up really early for no reason at all. I'm writing this blog in the midst of doing lots of homework. This is just a quick post as I have to go and do chores in like 20 minutes or so.

So I had a really nice day yesterday! I went to my friend, Lily's house and then we took the bus to town, where we took some nice pictures, I got a Starbucks venti iced caramel macchiato, my favourite drink. Then we went to the Odeon and watched (500) Days Of Summer!
Photobucket
It is honestly one of the best films that I've seen in a while - Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt were wonderful in it, they're both such good actors/actresses. I love the caption of the film... "Colour my life with the chaos of trouble" which is a line from 'The Boy With The Arab Strap' by Belle & Sebastian which I have been listening to for so long, so it was really nice to hear that line. Also, the soundtrack just totally completed the whole film. The opening with Regina Spektor, such a wonderful choice. I love how The Smiths are such a huge part of (500) Days too.. There were some lovely tunes from Simon & Garfunkel and The Temper Trap too! Both Zooey and Joseph are great singers.. their renditions of both Nancy Sinatra's Sugar Town and The Pixie's Here Comes Your Man, respectively, were both brilliant. Overall, a truly wonderful film which I hope to acquire once it's out on DVD so that I can watch it over and over. I loved it. Has anyone else seen it and what are your thoughts? :-)

Also, here are some pictures of

Quick post

Hello! Just a quick post whilst I'm brushing my teeth... I've been quite busy with school and everything so yeah, hence why this is just a quick post before bed.

It's my friend's birthday tomorrow so it should make school more interesting tomorrow haha, we all chipped in on Friday and got loads of nice little pressies for her, hope she likes them. Unfortunately, I'm coming down with a cold too, got a sore throat and runny nose. A lot of people are feeling ill lately, it's so depressing. It's been uncharacteristically sunny in England lately though... Kind of weird seeing as we didn't really get much of a summer. (How typically British to be talking about the weather...)

School is getting quite difficult now and I'm still undecided on which options to take! I have to take Maths, English Lang, English Lit, Chemistry, Biology and Physics. We're also already doing IT and the first modules in the Sciences but we're picking our options in January/February time? Scary stuff! I think we have to take a tech/art subject, Geography/History, a language (I'll probably take Latin over French) and something else? Big decisions and needless to say, I'm feeling very fickle. But I'll cross that bridge when I come to it, I suppose.

Also, in Art, we're drawing shoes as part of a statement object to become the main feature of a journey piece which tells your story.. (similar to what we're going in English, a bildungsroman, a journey story). What do you think? Would love some opinions on them.

Drawing of my Doc Martens, took around 3-4 hours on and off. Looks better in real life, I reckon, but I do like how it's turned out.

Drawing of Converse All Stars. Spent considerably less time on this, 1/1.5 hours?

Update

Hi! Again, I feel as if I only just started my blog (which is kinda true) but I feel as if I'm not blogging much at all. :-(

School is becoming really busy! Today I got Physics and Chemistry homework - nearly finished the Physics but the the Chemistry is a pretty big newspaper project. School is such a drag and I'm not looking forward to all the GCSE work, especially Chem, Bio, Phys and ICT.:-(

Anyways yeah, just a little update I guess. I'm getting so tired these days 'cause school is just so tiring. But I'm probably going out on Friday to town with my mates, gotta get some birthday presents for people and we might see 500 Days of Summer as well, hopefully. Will try and post some outfit pictures from Friday as well. I'm getting MEGA excited about Rome with my friends on 23rd October... Only 37 days left until we go, can't wait! :-)

Also, here's an outfit post from a while ago but yeah. I was in the technology bit of Selfridges lol:

Art

So before the holidays, I got a sketchpad (£2.99, WHSmith) and I decorated it with a collage on the front cover. I've got lots of plans for the inside of this sketchpad; lots more drawing, some painting, oil pastels, more collages, etc! I also got some nice pencils: B, 2B, 3B, 4B, 5B, 6B for £1.99 which was good. :-)

Here's a picture of my sketchpad/collage with mainly cut outs of celebrities from magazines, bit boring and standard but I quite like it! :-)

Hope you like!

Drawing

So I was just doing some drawing a few days ago and I decided to draw two icons from the 20th Century. I really liked drawing these two because there just seemed to be this sense of beauty and grace in the photos... I'm not sure. It was fun drawing them anyway.

Sorry about the quality of the photos too, they kinda look better in real life as the flash kinda washed them out.

The famous, world-renowned Audrey Hepburn in the blockbuster film, Breakfast at Tiffany's - took about 2.5/3 hours to draw.

Edie Sedgwick, "The It Girl" who hung around the likes of Andy Warhol and Bob Dylan, to name a few - took about 1.5/2 hours to draw.

Hope you like my drawings! :-)

Shopping

Here are a few lovely things I got recently and am very happy with:

Photobucket
Photobucket
Exterior and interior of leather wallet, Portobello Market, £3

Photobucket
Skirt, Portobello Market, £5

Photobucket
Dress, Portobello Market, £5

Photobucket
Shirt, Gap, £30

I was really happy about getting this stuff, especially the leather wallet as it was just a great find! It was also brill as I was originally gonna buy it for a fiver from a stall in Portobello and then when I went to pay, the woman said that it was actually £3! I love it when that happens! :-)

Anyway, it's school on Monday and I'm feeling really apprehensive about it, but also quite excited to see people again. But the idea of school work is daunting and the weather is sooo depressing too. England for you, eh? Anyway, yeah I really need to go to sleep as it's quite late and need to get back into the swing of things, I guess.
